Taylor's Words <3
Sam and I have known each other since high school but never talked to each other. I added him on Facebook a year or so after I graduated because I thought he was cute but was always to nervous to say anything. Sam and I started talking in June of 2014 when I first started night shift as an EMT and he was working in dispatch. The first time we actually saw each other after high school was one morning after he got off of work from working all night he drove all the way out to see me at work which was probably 30 minutes away... He showed up on his motorcycle which I think that he did that to try and impress me... well it worked. We talked for an hour maybe two I really don't know because I was still so shocked that he drove out all the way just to see me and the fact that it was raining and we were getting soaked but we continued to talk until I had to leave for a call.. Seeing him for the first time will be something I always remember because I knew that there was a spark between us. I wouldn't say love at first sight but I knew that there was a definite spark between us and I knew that I had to see him again soon. I wanted to get to know him more than just our late night convos while at work. The first thing I noticed was his smile but I also noticed his ability to find the good side of any situation, whether it was me complaining about a late night transfer to vegas or the puppy keeping me up all day while I was trying to sleep for my next shift, he would find the good in it all.. My favorite thing to do with him is build furniture and find new crafts to make, we work so well when building something there has been very few times we have ever disagreed. He probably hates it sometimes because I always want to make something new and challenge our abilities. But when we are not out in the garage building something we also like to binge watch TV on Netflix and Hulu or go on spontaneous 10 miles hikes. In 5 years I would like to have a family of our own, both of our careers established. I would like to be working as a RN on a critical care floor wherever we end up and Sam to have an established career. We are always really up for anything from hiking a new trail, nights at the brewery with friends, family nights, to just staying home and being together. We spend a lot of our time in the garage building new things, but we also like to binge watch TV on Netflix and Hulu or go on spontaneous 10 miles hikes. I am a firm believer that you don't meet people by accident. There was not an accident in Sam messaging me that night telling me that night shift will get better and that he is there to talk to me if I needed someone to keep me awake. He came into my life at the right time. We did not have an easy start to our relationship which I truly thought would push him away but he stood right next to me the entire time supporting me in every decision I have made while with him. A note to my future husband: I want to start off by saying thank you, thank you for coming into my life and showing me that I am perfect in every way, shape, and emotion. Thank you for sticking by my side when I freak out over little tiny things and when there is so much to be thankful for. Thank you for being there when I need a person. Thank you for giving me that look of “I can’t believe you” when I do something stupid or dumb, that look that makes me just stop in my tracks. Next I want to say sorry. I am sorry for my attitude when something doesn't go how I want it. I can’t help that it’s in my nature, yet you learn to go with the flow. I am sorry for getting worked up over the little things that may not really matter then apologizing two seconds later because I felt bad. Next, I want to say I love you. I love the way you look at me. I love the way I can be myself around you, my crazy, stupid, silly, emotional self. Or the way I can look in your eyes to know that you love me with all your heart and soul. I love that you appreciate everything I have to give and love me for being me. I love that I can look at you and not want to look at any other man. I love the idea that I can go home every night from work to know that my loving husband will be there waiting for me when I get home; or the fact that you are all mine forever and always. I give you so much kudos, you beat all my standards I have set for guys and what I look for. You are a special kind of guy that is for sure. I can remember hoping and praying for you to come into my life one day. A man that will love me, respect me, and appreciate everything I have to give and all my love. I kept my standards high for a reason to find a wonderful guy like you. I am so excited to spend my life with you, such an amazing man that I can sing horribly to and know that you look at me like I am the cutest person in the world, one that will allow me to think I am America's next dance star when in reality I have no rhythm what so ever. One that will allow me to plan all these cute date ideas and make many cute DIY crafts for. I am so excited to go on adventures, to share so many memories together. I am so excited to laugh with you, to cry with you, to be mad, to explore, and to love you. I am excited to grow as a person and a couple together and to find new ways to be a better wife in your eyes.
Sam's Words <3
How did you meet? We knew of each other for years but we first really started talking when she was an EMT and was on night shift. She posted on facebook asking if night shift got any easier after being on nights for a bit. I was currently on night shift, and replied it does get easier. We found ourselves talking via facebook when we both worked the same shifts, which eventually lead to exchanging of phone numbers. One morning when I was getting off shift at 6am I asked if I could come out to her location to see her. So after my shift I went home (got on my motorcycle even though I knew it was going to rain) and went to where she was working which was on the west end of Golden Valley. We talked there for a little over an hour. (yes the motorcycle was to try and impress her).
Was it love at first sight? Not at first sight but I had a feeling there was something different about this girl.
What did you notice first about her? Besides her smile which was mostly from photos on facebook. But when I met her in person for the first time her pigeon toed walk. Thought it was really cute.
What is your favorite thing to do together? Road trips with wine tasting!!
Where do you see yourselves in 5 years? In a new city, with a young child, possibly with a second on the way.
What do you guys do for fun? Wood crafting, road trips, pestering each other!
Why do you think you ended up together? I got to the point of realizing I really liked having Taylor around and was constantly looking for reasons to have her around, or just to see her even if it was for a few minutes.
